Provide technical expert advice and support, working with a range of internal, external stakeholders and partners as part of a specialist team. Ensure that the Company’s statutory duties and policies are implemented and enforced and/or provide specialist technical input where required.
Key Responsibilities
Located in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, you will be supporting and advising the site management team as the main point of contact and lead on all matters for site health and safety with the following responsibilities:
- Support the business EHS objectives and assist in driving change and improvement.
- Provide administration and support to Operational teams as necessary.
- Distribution of incoming EHS communications.
- Review and audit site-based systems of work along with controlled files and documents.
- Carry out site EHS inspections and tours as required.
- Produce required reports and statistics in line with timescales.
- Investigate incidents and agree actions to prevent further occurrence.
- Ensure non-conformances are dealt with appropriately and closed out within agreed timescales.
- Develop solutions and put forward recommendations to resolve issues, ensuring that they are successfully implemented and that codes of practice are adhered to.
- Be the Company’s expert witness as and when required.
Qualifications / Experience
- HSE Degree / Diploma or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Health, Safety & Environmental background, ideally in a Manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety management systems.
- Ability to gain in-depth knowledge of Company Policies, Procedures and Operational needs.
- Confident Presentation Skills and ability to assist in delivery of training.
- Experience of working in a health & safety capacity over the range of areas covered by the Company, in relation to providing advice monitoring and policy development.
- Experience and exposure to undertaking accident/incident investigations.
- Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Appropriate level of membership IOSH (graduate) or equivalent and engaged in a relevant programme of CPD & IPD.
- PC Skills - Word processing, Excel spreadsheets, Data collation and presentation.
- Able to communicate with employees and managers at all levels within the organisation, including the development and delivery of training, providing information, and influencing people or groups.
